Pastoral Council
In every parish of the diocese, a Pstoral Council shall be established, if the
diocesan Bishop, after consulting with the Council of Presbyters, so decides.
The pastor presides over the Pastoral Council.  The Pastoral Council is
composed of members of the congregation together with those of the parish
staff who have pastoral care by reason of their office.  The Pastoral Council
assists in promoting pastoral action in the parish. (Canon 536 #1). The St.
Brendan Pastoral Council meets approximately every six weeks and began
posting approved meeting minutes to this website in July 2014.  Click on
dates to the left to view council meeting minutes.

R.C.I.A.  Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
Are you thinking about becoming a Catholic, or are already a Catholic but not
confirmed?  The R.C.I.A. is a process of spiritual growth and exploration of
our Catholic faith. It is a faith journey for adults who would like to explore the
possibility of becoming fully initiated into the Catholic Church through the
celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. We
will be starting a new season in the fall. Please contact David Morris at
910-477-7055 or email to sign up or for more
Catechist Program
Since February 2014, a team known as “Catequesis por la Fe” have met
regularly to attend educational sessions and receive certification as Level I
Catechists through the University of Dayton known as the  ‘Doorway to
Formation of Faith’.  The team was supported by Father Ryszard and the
Parish Council.  Bishop Michael Burbidge blessed the Catequesis por la Fe
team on Saturday, October 10th, after the Hispanic heritage Mass.
